M° Mauro Gizzi, teacher in the National Conservatory of Music of Rodi Garganico (Foggia Province - Puglia Region - Italy), has completed the studies at Conservatory Licinio Refice of Frosinone, under the guide of the M° Giuseppe Agostini, brightly graduating himself in organ and composition for organ in 1987th year.
He won three national concourses for Teaching post of Conservatory.
He has developed intense concertistic activity as soloist of organ, harpsichord and in vocal and instrumentals formations for room orchestras.
In particular, are signalled the cooperation with Orchestra La Sapienza , with the Choir Franco Maria Saraceni of the University of Rome, with the Orchestra Symphonic Abruzzese; the execution in first national absolute of :Integrale L'Organiste of César August Franck and numerous concerts for organ in Italy and abroad.
He has founded and is running Concentus Musicus Fabraternus Josquin Des Prés, of which you have read already the ample cultural run.
He has philologically reconstructed an important part of the music eighteenth-century Neapolitan, with the execution in first absolute modern of some passages of Francis Feo and Niccolò Jommelli.
He has more times directed choral and musical formations in the Basilica of S. Pietro in Vatican, during the Papal Chapels, in the official demonstrations of the National Presidency of the “Azione cattolica Italiana”. In other occasions he has developed the role of organist in the Papal Chapels.
He organizes every year a concertistic international season, reaches by now the twelfth edition, and it has in raced exchanges of experiences with artistic formations of the whole world.
He has to his asset over 600 concerts. He has recorded and also engraved for Radiorai, that continually transmits works of the M° Gizzi. He has also engraved for Dongiovanni, Music Image records and Warner. He has performed concerts in Rosario(Argentina)Vienna, Salisburgo, Rome, Paris, Venice, Budapest, Mathias Dom for the National Party of the Republic Magiara, to Medjugorie and Zagabria for the Missa In Tempore Aevum with Josè Carrerras and Cecilia Gasdia, to Bratislava in the summer of 1998. He has effected a tour in France on I invite of the City of Avignone and you/he/she has been invited for the next Festival On Off and for the season 1998-99 of the Theater Operate Of Avignon Et Des Pays De Vaucluse.
He has participated in the lyric season of Radio Rai, you barcaccia, with the direction of the choir for the works Turandot, Nabucco and Macbeth, with recording in CD and direct broadcast.
In these occasions he has cooperated with artists as Bonisolli, Taddei, Cossotto and Cones. He has directed the choir in the broadcast work The Brewer of Preston, of Andrew Camilleri, interpreted by Leo Gullotta. He has taken part to the season of the Regal Theater of Parma and the Greek Theater in Rome, the Barber of Seville performing, Turandot, Nabucco, Don Pasquale, Bohéme. He has directed the choral concert in the Festival Palestrina 2000. How soloist organist has collaborated with the Theater of the work in Rome.
He is besides Teacher of the Choir in the Ceremonies of the Sacred Military Order Costantiniano of the Real Casa of Borbone of the two Sicilies.
Maestro Mauro Gizzi also develops activity of consulting and supervision for the restauration of ancient organs, with particular specialization for the Organs built by Catarinozzi. He has held courses in the conservatories of Cagliari, Sassari, Bari, Power, Frosinone, Manner, Verona and Cosenza.
